Education and development

Work at Rassers

We firmly believe that a lawyer’s education never ends, and although our professionals are able to rely on their self-confidence, skills, and experience, it is also crucial that they keep up with current legal developments.

That is why we put such great emphasis on professional training, for instance by organising monthly case law sessions led by a lecturer from Tilburg University. We also encourage participation in advanced programmes, courses, and seminars.

A lawyer’s training involves much more than knowledge of the law: negotiation, management, and other types of skills need to be acquired, as well. We continually respond to the rapidly changing role of the lawyer.

Trainee lawyers are generally assigned to one section for one and a half years before moving on to another one, the basic idea being that the traineeship should encompass a variety of disciplines. Traineeships are designed to allow everybody to work cases independently – and thus bear responsibility - as soon as possible.

Traineeships

Students at the final stage of their university education are welcome to do a traineeship. They are offered the opportunity to get a 'taste' of the legal profession.

The traineeship activities will consist of performing searches (case law and literature research) for lawyers and on their instructions in all areas of the law, writing memorandums and/or drafting procedural document drafts and letters. In addition, we will try to take you along to hearings and meetings as much as possible, to enable you to get a clear understanding of what a lawyer does and what working in the legal profession involves.

A student traineeship at Rassers Advocaten, during which students are introduced to several areas of the law, generally lasts 8 weeks.

At present we have trainee openings in the following periods:

Jan / Feb 2020 (already filled)
March / April 2020
May / June 2020 (already filled)

If you are interested in doing a traineeship at our organisation, please send an email with your CV and marks list to: Cynthia Castelein (HR Manager) castelein@rassers.nl
